REFUGE RECOVERY

Who is in your Savior Kit?

Refuge Recovery as One of My Saviors

October 19, 2022 in Hypnosis

The first time I stepped into a Refuge Recovery meeting in Portland Oregon, I liked what I felt. I was quite used to these fellowship meetings having been leaning heavily on the 12 Step Fellowship Programs that are freely available online and in person internationally.

I was brought to the 12 Step Programs through Al-Anon. I was the poster child for that programs lead saying, “many come to fix the alcoholic in their lives, and stay to fix themselves”.

Yup, that’s what I did, it became more and more clear to me that I could use those tools to try and be “sane” in a “crazy situation”… but that the reason why I would even CONSIDER staying was due to my Codependent tendencies, which, come to find out, are in MANY people who were raised in dysfunctional situations.

So CODA is where I landed and stayed, with ETERNAL gratitude to this day. They have MANY meetings online and in person as well. Being in rooms full of people actively looking at themselves and ways to get better by sharing their experience, strengths and hopes is truly awe-inspiring. I loved it, and was able to accept the Higher Power easily, but NOT completely 110%, I mean, I accepted it, and DO accept it, but do I fully TRUST to the point that I feel fearless and not trying to control? … uuummm, no, not yet anyway.

Which leads me back to Refuge. While CODA had me build my relationship with my Higher Power, Refuge Recovery had me build my relationship to my Inner Self.

With these 2 relationships, I felt whole and complete with my Universal Support Team.

Refuge Recovery was created by Noah Levine and you know how it is, when you just, LIKE the way someone speaks? You like their experience, their lens, the way they digest and share on an old topic? That’s how I felt with this man, and the Sangha that has developed from his offerings.

Here’s the Spotify channel, where Noah leads some talks and meditations, and here is a YouTube Channel to watch and listen as well.

With Refuge Recovery I have found incredible growth in the Compassion Meditation, and Meditation and Inquiry into Impermance, Acceptance and Forgiveness.

I find these kinds of fellowships to be SUCH good tools (and free!) to have in our toolkit for those on their Journey to Healing, Journey to Bettering their Lives, Journey to Learn More about Themselves, Journey to “get right”…

I find these tools to be great primers for your Mind, Body & Spirit as well to prepare for the Thinking Changes that can occur with Hypnosis, to get you in Alignment with your Best Self that you Resonate with and ENJOY being.

Wanna try it… you can book a free consultation with me here✨
